Pillar two ยท Activating
Heart opening breath
Opens the heart space and uses your voice to do it. For mornings, and for anything you are carrying around that you have not said out loud.
Watch
The pattern
- 01Sit or stand with your arms out wide.
- 02Breathe in through the nose, bringing your arms in toward your chest. Belly, chest, head.
- 03As you draw them in, picture a green light coming into the heart space. That light is love.
- 04Open your arms and breathe out on a long, audible ah. Send the light out with it, to everyone you care about and everyone who needs some.
- 05Keep going. The sound is the technique, not an addition to it.
- 06If something comes up, shake it out. Hands, arms, whole body.
- 07If there is someone you hold a grudge against, breathe the light in with them in mind and send it to them on the way out. Forgive them on purpose.
- 08Ten to twenty minutes.
The voice and the movement are what shift it. An antelope gets chased, gets away, and shakes the whole thing off. So does a dog. People hold on to it instead, which is why it stays, and this is the way back out.
If you cannot make noise where you are, this is not the technique. Use foundational breath and come back to this one later.
How it lands
Loud, and faintly ridiculous for the first minute. Then it stops being ridiculous and you notice how much you were holding on to.
What it does
- Gets it out through the voice, which is the fastest way
- Opens the heart space
- Clears the deck before the day starts
- Forgiveness on purpose, which changes how the day goes
- Boosts immunity and brings inflammation down
